Friday Job Tip – STAR Method
⭐️ If you’re graduating soon or job hunting now… Start turning your experiences into STAR stories.
Your internships, class projects, and campus roles are more valuable than you think — You just need the right framework.
STAR Method
Interview Preparation
S = Situation
Think:
- Where were You? (Company/School)
- What was Happening? (Why were you hired?)
- Why did it Matter? (Why were you needed?)
T = Task
- What was your responsibility?
- What were you trying to accomplish
This shows:
- Ownership
- Expectations
Your role (not the whole team’s)
Use “I” statements
I gathered data to provide to marketing.
A = Action
- What did YOU actually do?
This is the most important part! Talk About:
Steps You took
- Decisions you made
- Skills you used
*This is where you prove your value
R = Results
How did it Turn Out?
Share:
- Outcomes – (Increased engagement by 30%)
- Metrics (if possible) – (Finished 2 weeks early)
- Lessons Learned – (Adopted by the
entire team)
Results = Credibility
